I didn't grow up among other of my kin. My mother died giving birth to me in Rivendell. Thus I was raised among elves whom I started calling family.

According to master Elrond my dwarven folks of the White mountain were raided by a group of orcs some days before I was born. The ones that survived were running for their lives and they headed for the Misty mountains to join Gloin's folk. My mother was pregrant at that time and would give labor to me any time soon.

As they were passing through Eregion, they were attacked by bandits and when the morning came my mother was separated from the group of dwarves. She kept going for the Misty mountains but her strength abandoned her at the Ford of Bruinen. 

If it weren't for the Knights of Rivendell patrolling that area, I would surely be dead and my mother too. They took her and she was treated at Valley of Rivendell under the grace of Lord Elrond but her wounds were so grave that she didn't make it trough the night. That was the day I was born.
Lord Elrond searched for my folks to give me to them but alas, he could not find them.

So he raised me in the Valley and he thought that my miraculous surviving through all the evil, that has befallen my mother while she was carrying me, was a sign of Valars. 
He named me Giuvanni and he treated me like I was one of his sons.

As I was growing up, I was spending countless hours in the library of Lord Elrond. Maybe I was searching for the fate of my parents in these books as I still search for them now in my travels.

All in all I'm still trying to understand the true purpose of my existence but lord Elrond says that I should embrace it and not question it. On the bright side all this reading and searching has given me the chance to study the work of lord Celebrimbor and access the knowledge of how to bent the surrounding elements to my will. 

So maybe I was destined to have a life like that when I was a youngling, but that is something only the Valars know for sure. 

One thing is certain though: The search for my parents is not over...
