Orleanda "Lindy" Lightfoot
| Name | Orleanda |
|---|---|
| Occupation | Woodswoman, tanner, and travelling jill-of-all trades -- no job too small! |
| Age | Young Adult |
| Race | Hobbit |
|---|---|
| Residence | The woodlands of the Shire and Bree-land, with a comfy hole in Songburrow. |
| Kinship |
| Outward Appearance | A fully grown young hobbit woman, though particularly short and petite even for a hobbit. She has a thick head of unmanageably curly auburn hair that can be styled only one way -- hidden under a large hat. She has a generous smattering of freckles across her round nose and plump cheeks. Her eyes are bright and blue as a Shire summer sky, and very expressive of her often intense emotions. Though she is sometimes quiet and withdrawn, she more often exudes an air of boisterousness and gaity.

Background
Orleanda was born in the village of Overhill in the Bindbole Wood of the Shire. Though her mother died when she was but a baby, she had a happy childhood with her large family spread all around the Shire, who called her Lindy.
One fateful night, Orleanda was forced to flee her stepmother's home in Woodhall, all the way across the Brandywine and into Buckland, believing she had accidentally killed her cousin Othro in a hilarious kitchen prank gone wrong. She left the woods behind and spent what remained of her youth in Newbury, Buckland, among her more distant cousins. There she was taken in by a kindly Mrs. Burrows and her grown daughters, though it was also there that she learned to work hard to earn her keep. She grew to know and even like the Old Forest (the parts closest to the hedge, at least!), for it was there she would go to collect mushrooms, which were taken all the way to Bree-town for trading.
...And then one on one of these trading visits, who should she run into but her "dead" cousin Othro! He was incredibly happy to see her, recounting his story of epic food poisoning the night she disappeared. What an odd night that was indeed! he said, as her mind raced to come up with a plausible story as to her disappearance. She was never quite successful on that account, and now the stories told by the townsfolk back home range from "I heard she was kidnapped by travelling circus dwarves!" to "Well I heard she ran off with that no-good Baggins boy."
In any case. it was all very awkward and embarrassing indeed.
Today, Orleanda is picking up the pieces and trying to put her life back together, but in these dark times that sometimes seems but a vain hope.
She has returned to The Shire and hopes to demonstrate that she is no longer the troublesome and irresponsible lass she once was, but that she has grown into a dependable young lady, having learned much and matured considerably during her voluntary exile.
