Chapter five: A night dressed in stars
The top floor of the Last Homely House has a clear view of the star-filled sky and Thendryt often found himself gazing up towards it. The moon was especially bright tonight it seemed and he lost track of time as he pondered over his meeting with Bryn the other night. Odak camped in the Misty Mountains? Why? What was he up to...
"Thendryt, suilad." Said a female voice behind him. He turned around to see Faorie smiling at him.
"Faorie. Well met." He returned her smile. "How are you feeling tonight?"
"I am well, thank you... What of yourself?" Thendryt turned away and let his eyes return to the stars.
"Can't complain. I returned from scouting the Misty Mountains yesterday." He looked over his shoulder and met her eyes.
"The Misty Mountains? What has gone on there?" She walked over to him and also let her eyes rest on the night-sky.
"Not much going on up there. The Goblins are many but they do not seem aggressive. Yet."
"Understandable, I have not seen the Warband patrolling much in the Misty Mountains. I've noticed a centered attention in the Trollshaws naturally, but I suppose we should scout the Mountains as well." She looked at him. "Perhaps, when you return there, if you are in need of assistance or wish for company I could join you. I'd be happy to help you out." She looked at him over her shoulder, watching his reaction.
"Company?" Thendryt raised an eye-brow.
"Surely you would prefer company over travelling alone?" Faorie looked at him, surprised.
Thendryt let out a little laugh. "Did I leave such a strong impression in the glade that you'd come scouting with me just to try and understand me more?" He turned to her with a smile.
"We are Kin, Thendryt. We work together, and are stronger in groups." She yet again turned her focus to the stars.
"Aye, that's true. But the situation in the Ettenmoors and even in the Trollshaws is more dire then the situation in the Misty Mountains. Faorie nodded slowly, looking down at the floor.
"Well if you are ever in need of assistance, there are plenty of willing and able members to help you." She turned and looked around them. "Though I am aware that you know this."
"Thendryt..." Again, she looked around. "There is something we must speak of. Please, come with me." She beckoned him to follow her and he complied. They walked down from the top floor and out to the large balcony in the back of the Last Homely House.
Faorie stopped and turned to him after he shut the door. "Here I hope we can have a bit more privacy in our conversation."
