A choice unwanted

Faernathron looked down on the small scroll, his latest musings giving him no comfort, yet, he knew the words to be true, slowly, he read them again.

"It has been an absense unwanted, yet one that has me now putting things in perspective, especially in regards to the task set before me by Lady Galadriel. How can I uphold the duty to her, if Ælbdis Gaomee keeps intruding on my thoughts?....ahh curse this choice before me... honor would have me abandon her, love would have me abandon my task, duty would have me quelsh the fire in my heart, the fire that would have me abandon duty...."

Faernathron looked up at the clouds drawing together in the sky, a storm was coming down from the north, the cold wind of the mountains pushing moisture heavy clouds before it. Soon, it would rain, and the grass of Ered Luin would shimmer with the downpour.

He looked down on the small scroll, noticing it had already some wet spots...

"Duty must come first... I must complete the task set before my by the lord and lady of Lothlórien."

Faernathron stood up, went inside and found a scribe... he needed for a message to be sent to Ælbdis Gaomee, letting her know he could no longer follow his heart.

Duty had to prevail, though it broke his heart.
