Initially, this was meant as a poem for Alairif, though like many of the lyrics I rewrite, I began hearing the song within me. What is unique in this one are they are my words, entirely. The song that chose these words is called Swanships of Alqualondë, by Lonely Mountain Band.https://youtu.be/Ej5WunkjCwU

Hidden
They shelter each other in pristine rain,
Of small blossoms in fragrant splendor.
Each petal as soft as a lover’s caress,
They lie hidden within the white flower field.
The stars and the moon like sparks upon high.
A million points of fire in the dark,
Kissing the skin alight freckles of light.
While the pale moon dims in the fire in their eyes.
Rimmed by the trees an awakening spring,
Held like sentinels, witnesses for the two.
As the water cascades, singing whispers of love,
Deafening heartbeats, the waters call from above.
Protected by a massive tree that stands alone,
Resolute in reach for the light of the stars.
Their shining calls it to burst toward the sky,
As the lovers fall to each other’s waiting arms.
