A Letter to Miss Lorniel

*Lorniel is not to be confused with the LotR:O NPC Lorniel from the Shadows of Angmar storyline...

Dear Miss Lorniel

Dearest Lorn

Dear Lorniel,

Told you I'd write! And you're going to laugh maybe. Or be concerned. Both is fine, I think.

Remember how I told you that my friends and I have a knack for getting into trouble without even trying or doing anything at all? Well, trouble found us again. Not too long after we arrived back in Bree-town with your cousin, Cesistya, I was served a warrant for both Eduwiges and I. Some lass named Myraian handed it to me, called me Mister Finchley (which was the only funny part about all of this), and said that Edu and I had wrecked some tavern in Dol Amroth and then didn't pay our bill. All of this is a bold faced lie, of course. I may eat a lot and Edu may drink a lot but we always make sure we pay and we'd never wreck some place like a pair of brigands.

Soon after we discovered that three friends of ours - Xanderian, her sister, Xandilif, and Calidis - have gone missing and no one has seen them or knows where they went. Calidis' horse, Morroch, was left in Bree-town and was distressed and had a strange paper with bloody writing on it, though it was hard to see through the smearing what the complete message was. Edu thinks it means Kheledul Docks which is apparently some place out in Ered Luin that some of my friends have a bad history with.

Took a lot of convincing to make sure Edu didn't just ride out to the place with no plan and, for my part, I think it awful suspicious that our friends should go missing and to be served a false warrant at the same time. Something fishy is going on and I mean to find out what.

Other than that, Breeland is in full autumn now. That means lots of baking and sweets and people making ready for winter. The snowball fights can get a bit legendary if there's enough snow. If you were here, I'd show you no mercy! Ha! But, I suspect you will be as Miss Cesistya says; staying at your Aunt's place until winter is over and then setting out to retrieve some more of your family from lands far away. But, if you do plan on going someplace else, do tell me so I know where to write to! I will likely be in Bree-land until we figure out this mess. I'll be sure to let you know if my location changes too.

How is it there now that we are not eating your Aunt out of house and home and driving Miss Meldolen to near insanity? That's a joke. I hope.

Yours,

Finchley
