I dived in your azure seas, engulfed
In their devouring storm; wilfully
In their depths I sunk, seeking
Pearls on your seabed.
And though devoid of light, these waters,
I do not need it.
Your radiance has blinded me all the same.
I drained your bottomless wells, parched
With thirst and desire; baptising
My sins 'til they drowned. Flooding
My garden of regrets.
And though it crushes my lungs, this weight,
I do not mind it.
Your beauty has stolen my breath all the same.
Thus I stagger, wordless in the dark.
Wanting for nought.
All for naught.
