After a very long journey Khalis finally arrived at the hidden elven enclave located within the caves of Avorrim. He left his steed to feed on a patch of freshly sprouted grass and made his way into the cave mouth where he was quickly greeted by two warriors who addressed him title and name. It seems he was expected.
He was escorted smartly through the caverns until they emerged into a large natural cave which the Avorrim had over the centuries crafted into their home. Familiar hanging lanterns and crystal lamps lit the chamber with enough luminosity to even allow plants to grow within. The two warriors escorted him to an open top boat and gestured him aboard. Once he was settled the boat seamed to shift all on its own the currents of the underground river slowly bearing him away. As the small boat made its way it gave Khalis the chance to take in the workmanship which had gone into this underground home.
His attention was brought back to his immediate presence when there was a small knock as the boat moored at another staging and there awaiting him was a hiril clad all in black, her face veiled. She simply gestured to him to walk with her and the pair did so.
Sometime later after time unknown Khalis emerged from the caverns over-looking the Bay of Balfalas. It is not recorded what the hiril said to him or how long they spoke but what was recorded was the detail of his attire. No longer did he wear the white swan cloak bearing the emblem of Bar En Vanimar. Now he wore the blue cloak bearing the long star associated for hundreds of years with the Warband of Imladris under the patron-ship of Lord Elrond. His armour was as black as night except for the gold filigree and at his shoulder he bore the silver clasp of the shield crossed with twin blades.
How these items came to be there no-one knows.
History will tell us that on that day the Warband of Imladris was returned to active service under the command of their lord patron. As to how it happened only Lord Khalis Imieran knows the answer to that one.
