| Outward Appearance |
Stadric Charfield would immediately come across as a withered old man, his bent back, deeply cragged face and white-grey hair ensure such deductions, though one blast of his strident voice will rid you of such an inference. In his prime years the man would have been quite tall, well above six feet at the least, but his bent back has shrunken him to normal. The man wears simple, but clearly expensive robes in grey during most hours and his grizzled beard and somewhat disheveled hair force you to believe that the man cares nothing of his appearance. When you spy Old Master Charfield tottering about the streets, leaning heavily on his cane and seemingly talking to himself you will find him almost adorable, and it is for those that know him well to decide whether or not his personality fits such deductions. He is certainly a loud man, never dreaming of not saying what is on his mind in order to spare someone hurt feelings. But he dishes out insults so often in sharp, loud voice that most that know him think nothing of such insults. Although he rarely leaves his house, he has noticed the growing number of outsiders, entering Bree, including Dwarves and even Elves. He has always hated all but men that live within the hedge wall, or anywhere in Bree for that matter, and has become incredibly resentful of the current mayor, Tenderlach, letting anybody but Bree-Landers live inside Bree's walls. To combat the Mayor he has set up a group whose aim is to drive all but Bree-folk out of Bree's walls, dead or alive. To try and gather members to his cause he has started to give speeches as often as he can outside the popular tavern, the Prancing Pony. Stadric Charfield holds a startling similarity to his dog. Both are small, old, grey but both have a fiery determination in their eyes of one less than half their age. |

Background
Almost nothing is known about the strange old man that has suddenly left his dusty study and started preaching to crowds around Bree and Combe.
It is presumed only by eloquent use of words and knowledge of Bree-Lands history that he trained as a scholar when he was younger and searching through Scholar's Stairs records would confirm such an assertion.
A careful examination of the Charfield family records and you will discover that Stadric's father, Cutherbert Charfield was hung for the murder of a Hobbit family in Staddle and his mother committed suicide some weeks later. With his parents both dead, Stadric went into the care of his elderly uncle, Olaf Charfield, a widower. The records are quite vague at this point but it would seem that his uncle left Stadric more or less to his own devices, often traveling to nearby towns to meet wealthy friends.
Only two years after Stadric went into his custody, Olaf Charfield passed away and Stadric, at only seventeen years old, inherited the huge fortune of the Charfield family. He became a scholar and devoted many years into studying the history of Eriador, Bree-land in particular. Five years after his uncle's death he completed his training as a scholar and lead a campaign against the mayor, Walter Deepsummer and the Hobbits and Dwarves of Bree-Town.
After his campaign failed, Stadric was placed under arrest for rousing hate and was placed in prison for several months. After his release he disappeared from public view and rumours spread that he was traveling around Eriador, though the records say nothing of it.
Whatever happened to him, Stadric returned to Bree though remained confined to his home. It is only recently that Stadric has reappeared, attempting, again to gather support behind his group now known as The Partisans and once again trying to take power from the mayor into a council of representatives lead by himself.
