Cloves' Diary - Second of Wedmath

Well, this looks promising. After all this Bad Business with Bears I seem to finally have gotten a gig again! I'd heard of it from an old colleague of mine from Minstrel training, Firefern. So I went to the tryouts today and what do you know, they liked it! (Well, of course they did. I'm just that good.) Mistress Silkweed is quite a splendid Hobbit lady with a beautiful house looking out over the Shire homesteads. She seems very worldly and refined for a minstrel, but there you go! So anyway, the tryouts went splendid, and both me and Firefern were recruited to play immediately. We even have a gig tonight already! Can't wait. My stomach is already rumbling in anticipation of finally being able to buy some pies and beer again. Oh, on the matter of pies... there were some at the tryout as well. Mmm. I have missed real Shire cooking. Lone-Lands kitchen is... well, better not talk about it.
